Since 1957, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) has been a prestigious, by invitation only organization, with membership based upon actual and proven trial experience with regard to civil trials taken to jury verdicts, as well as on a demonstrated commitment and adherence to the ethics and ideals of professionalism. Many consider their invitation to join the American Board of Trial Advocates as one of the special highlights of their legal career. ABOTA has chapters in every state, and its members constitute a "who's who" of the trial lawyers, nationwide. Membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates is a highly prized accolade recognized by judges, attorneys and legal professionals nationwide.
Frank Cristiano is deeply honored to announce that he has been accepted as a member.
About the American Board of Trial Advocates
While ABOTA’s primary passion is the vigilant support of the Seventh Amendment of the Constitution, aligning their cause with that of Thomas Jefferson as he fought to safeguard the right to a jury trial; the organization also facilitates myriad partnerships and projects for various causes including education, journalism and judicial independence.
The general purpose and mission statement of the American Board of Trial Advocates, as indicated on the organization’s website, is designed to “foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy to the end that individual litigants may receive more effective representation and the general public be benefited by more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation.”
Invitation to ABOTA carries with it a commitment for the inductee as well, as all members are called upon to uphold the organization’s Constitution, wherein all members “reciprocally and morally bind themselves to expend the reasonably necessary time, effort and funds to form and maintain an association, not operated for profit, composed of practicing lawyers whose paramount practice is contested litigation in which the right to jury trial is insured by constitutional provision.”
